On the Treadmill or On the Track

Do you feel like you are in constant motion but just not getting anywhere; running as fast as you can on that Treadmill…heart racing, sweating and out of breath.  Press STOP!

Now step off the Treadmill, take a deep breath and allow your heart to settle back into your chest, cool down and take a nice deep breath.  Perfect.  You are now on the Track.

You don’t have to move fast, move mindfully.

You don’t have to race to the finish line,  move toward it.

Choose your first step, take that step and then choose your second step and keep in motion and observe the joy of forward movement and what it feels like to be making progress.

Be Mindful.  Be Moving. Be Marvelous.

Freedom

Is Freedom something we are entitled to or is Freedom something we earn? My personal belief is we earn our Freedom. The reason I believe this is because if we are not invested, if we have no skin in the game, we take our Freedom for granted and run the risk of losing it. We have a responsiblity to take a stand for our Freedom and not back down.

What Freedom’s are you standing for: Political, Religeous, Financial, Business, Personal. Speech? What are you willing to do to insure your Freedom? Will you wait for someone to fight for your Freedom or will you take action yourself?

Why is Freedom important to you and what action will you take to protect your Freedom today? Tomorrow? In the future?

I encourage you to explore this topic and share your thoughts with us?

Be Bold. Be Brave. Be Free.

I Hate Setting Goals…Again!

I Hate Setting Goals…Again!

He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened – Tao Te Ching

Does the idea of sitting down and writing out your goals for the next year, three years and five years make you want to scream?

I ask you this question 4 month ago, on February 28th. You know you SHOULD have done it, and here it is June 26th and it’s still not done.

Perhaps SHOULD is the problem. Trainer and motivational speaker Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul series author) suggests that we write down our WANTS instead of our SHOULDS.

I like this concept. It’s easier to engage and I am now finding great joy in writing out my wants and desires for what I will create for myself over the next few years.

The SHOULDS? Turn them over to people better suited to handle them so you can free yourself to work on what is important to you. I have hired an experienced team to do all of the things I SHOULD NOT be doing because they are not “my thing” so I can put my energy toward what I WANT to do and that’s making money doing “my thing”.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much fun this can be.

Get Ready. Get Set. Goals!

A Wing and A Prayer versus A Purpose and A Plan

What’s you daily routine? Do you get up in the morning and turn your success over to hope on a wing and a prayer? Or, are you running your business with a purpose and a plan?

Have you turned your success over to the Universe (a wing and a prayer)? If so, have you taken the next step of letting the Universe know exactly what success looks like to you (a purpose and a plan)?

Pray and Plan with Purpose.

Happy May Day

Happy May Day

I did a little Google search on May Day and came accross this on wikipedia…

In some parts of the United States, May Baskets are made. These are small baskets usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone’s doorstep. The giver rings the bell and runs away. The person receiving the basket tries to catch the fleeing giver. If they catch the person, a kiss is exchanged.

I loved this idea and thought not just on May Day but on any day what a difference we could make, a smile we could generate and maybe even get a kiss out of the deal!

Be Bold. Be Generous. Be Bountiful.

Let's Get Uncomfortable!

Let’s Get Uncomfortable!

Just the suggestion makes you uncomfortable!

Now get really uncomfortable…write it down, commit to it by telling someone and asking them to join you. Send me a note and tell me if you’d like.

Be Bold. Be Disruptive. Be Uncomfortable.

Daily Rituals

Do you have a daily ritual that sets you up for the day?

He who knows others is wise.  He who knows himself is enlightened – Tao Te
Ching

I have a daily ritual that feeds my soul and I would like to share it with you.  It is simple, quick and powerful.

Upon waking up in the morning take a moment to Open to Grace.  Allow yourself to KNOW that you are perfect in your humanness and that you have everything you need within.

At the end of the day as you prepare to rest for the night Close with Gratitude.  Allow yourself to acknowledge and accept all of the abundance in your life.

And remember, even the unwelcome abundance has something to offer.

May Grace and Gratitude walk beside you.

Is There a Rock Star in You?

I was in Cleveland, Ohio last week on a business trip and had the opportunity to visit the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame while I was there.

I love Rock n Roll! I had so much fun watching videos and listening to music, dancing, singing and looking back to the roots of rock.

But, something else came up for me in the seven hours I spent immersed in the greatness of artists past and present. What if these artists had not come forward? What if they had kept their talents to themselves? What would the world have lost? What would have been the price?

What about you? Have you come forward with your gifts? Have you given your all?

If not will you please grace us with your talents, we’re waiting.

Be Bold. Be Great. Be You.
In gratitude,
Johanna McClain

What is my Intention and what is my desired Outcome?

He who knows others is wise.  He who knows himself is enlightened – Tao Te Ching

What is my Intention and what is my desired Outcome? What a powerful question!

Are you in the habit of asking yourself this question?  Let’s say you have a prospective new client; do you have a clear Intention for the tone and structure of your meeting?  Once your Intention is clear; what is the desired Outcome you would like to have?

This could go a couple of different ways:

“I have to get this new prospect to buy my service today or I’m not going to make my goals for the month.”

“My Intention with this new prospect is to come from a place of service, to ask questions and listen carefully to the answers so I can deliver the best solutions to their problems.  My desired Outcome is for my prospective client to see me as a trusted advisor that they want to do business with; and not just another person trying to make a sale.”

Scenario one is all about you.  Scenario two focuses the attention on them.  The energy shift is huge when you take “you” out of the equation.  And the really cool thing is…you’ll both get your desired Outcome.

This applies to all of our relationships; just think of how different our encounters would be if we applied this simple but powerful concept.

Come from a place of Integrity.  Listen. Be passionate.  Enjoy.

Is it just me or do you get distracted by “shiny objects”?

He who knows others is wise.  He who knows himself is enlightened – Tao Te Ching

I love “shiny objects”, those distractions that we manufacture that take us off task, especially if the task feels daunting.

When a new “shiny object” appears ask yourself if it’s relevant, does it require immediate attention and will it move my project forward?

If the answer is yes, you have treasure. If the answer is no, you have trash.

Honor the appearance of your “shiny objects” they may be showing you something you need to see.

Have fun.  Be passionate.  Enjoy.
